The Open Access Button browser extension has shut down
As of November 18th 2025, the Open Access Button and its browser extensions for Chrome and Firefox are no longer supported. If you still have the extension installed, please remove it from your browser.
How to uninstall
In Chrome
Open your extensions page by typing or pasting
chrome://extensions
into the address bar, then find “Open Access Button” and click Remove.
In Firefox
Open your add-ons page by typing or pasting
about:addons
into the address bar, find “Open Access Button”, click the three dots, and select Remove.
